Cannabis knowledge

What is CBD oil?
CBD, short for the term cannabidiol, is a natural compound found in the cannabis plant that has therapeutic potential when it interacts with the body. CBD oil doesnt cause you to feel impaired or high but rather works alongside a natural hormonal system inside your body called the endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system plays a role in many of the bodys biological responses, including balancing our bodys immune system, communication between cells, appetite, metabolism, memory, sleep and more.
Does CBD oil and medical cannabis work?
Medical cannabis can be used to treat a variety of conditions where other medications and treatments have failed, or if you are experiencing side-effects of treatment. Patients suffering from chronic pain, neuropathy and psychiatric conditions have found benefits. It may also be a good option if you prefer to use plant-based medicines over pharmaceutical medications.

Medicinal cannabis does not suit everyone, and people react differently. We encourage you to make a booking with one of our experienced doctors to determine if medicinal cannabis is a good treatment option for you.
Can medical cannabis help me?
CBD oil and medical marijuana are currently being used under prescription by patients through out to  support a wide range of conditions including pain, fibromyalgia, migraines, sleep, gastrointestinal problems and insomnia.

CBD oil supplements the bodys own cannabis hormonal system, called the endocannabinoid system. CBD oil may help promote a sense of calmness, relieve anxiety and reduce pain through its anti-inflammatory effects. THC oil may be helpful for sleeping / insomnia and for more severe pain symptoms.

The scientific evidence for medicinal cannabis is limited for some conditions and it is prescribed on a case-by-case basis. If you are not sure if you would benefit from medicinal cannabis, get booked in with one of our doctors today so they can assess your condition and suitability for treatment.
Can I drive while using medical cannabis?
As long as you do not feel impaired, CBD oil will not cause you to become impaired or affect how you think. However, we recommend you do not drive for at least 8 hours after ingestion of THC products. It is the individuals responsibility to remain safe when driving. It is important for you to regularly reassess your ability to drive. If poor coordination, or concentration affects your ability to do household and other tasks, you must not drive. Please discuss this during your consultation with your prescribing doctor.
Can I take medicinal cannabis if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding we recommend you wait before trialing medicinal cannabis. At the moment, scientific studies on safety whilst pregnant or breastfeeding are inconclusive.
