Recently, Mr. Sawasdee Jitphrom, a traditional Thai medicine practitioner, aged 61 from Phatthalung Province, Thailand, received the Outstanding Award in Traditional Thai Medicine. This award was granted by the Crown Prince's support fund, Srinakharinwirot University, for his dedication to promoting the field of traditional Thai medicine. Mr. Sawasdee is a local herbal healer who inherited his knowledge from his ancestors and also pursued formal education in traditional Thai medicine at the Songkhla Rajabhat University. He is a respected figure in his community and is known for his contributions, such as discovering an herbal remedy to reduce smoking addiction, which won him accolades at both the provincial and regional levels.

Over the years, people have requested to buy his remedies, but he has chosen not to sell them commercially. Instead, he personally produces and distributes his remedies while ensuring that each herbal ingredient complies with legal regulations. This recognition is not only an honor for him but also a source of pride for his family and lineage.

Sawasdee's practice mainly involves using herbal treatments for various conditions, with a particular focus on musculoskeletal issues. He has successfully treated patients suffering from bone and joint problems, often caused by accidents or injuries. These treatments typically involve regular massages, and for more severe cases, it may require several sessions over time. However, for those with musculoskeletal issues stemming from behavioral habits, such as muscle strain, a few massage sessions can lead to complete recovery, and intermittent sessions are also effective.
